01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Constructed with delicate balance inside tall glassware, the parfaits at Ameniji reveal changing flavors and textures with every spoonful. A peach parfait might weave fruit sweetness with herbal ingredients like snow fungus and jujube dates, while an autumn chestnut creation conceals salted croquant, herbs, and roasted green tea jelly beneath its surface, sidestepping pure sweetness in favor of intricate layering. From savory-sweet corn compositions to a chestnut and autumn leaf parfait pairing citrus with unrefined brown sugar, the dessert roster shifts with the changing seasons.

The beverage selection is equally wide-ranging and thoughtfully assembled to complement the parfaits. Offerings include seasonal herbal teas, curated black tea pairings, a house-brewed craft cola simmered with cloves, ginger, and herbal liqueur, and a striking blue cream soda that floats vanilla ice cream over butterfly pea tea. A glass case displaying fruit tarts, warm breads, baked crepes, and french toast offers plenty of ways to round out an afternoon pause.

Beyond sweets, the cafe also prepares savory plates such as hamburger steak, lasagna, and tomato dry curry, making it a peaceful lunch stop as well. Situated on the 2nd floor of a building in the residential streets of Imado, Taito Ward, Ameniji welcomes guests just 3 days a week, from Friday through Sunday. With limited seating in an understated room, planning ahead for a specific time or seasonal dessert makes for the smoothest visit.
